Artist Coloring Books for Adults

Adult coloring books

Adult coloring books are not only for entertainment they also provide an outlet for stress release and adult coloring books are really helpful for seniors with disabilities or dementia. Adult coloring books allow a person's creative juices to flow and a modicum of self-satisfaction when it comes to creating something beautiful and memorable. Let me say that the act of coloring is an enjoyable experience (to me anyway) and it's a highly effective way for seniors to allow anxiety to be dominated by the pleasurable activity of coloring.

Helping people get in touch with their artistic-side though adult coloring books can provide the springboard to helping reconcile any emotional conflict, promote the exploration of feelings, and foster self-awareness. I can tell you from experience that using an adult coloring book may not totally equal the complete art-therapy-experience but can be tons of fun. And now, this professional adult coloring book note from a non-professional: when using your adult coloring book don't use crayons, go for colored pencils instead, I like the precision.

To me, coloring is like meditation because I have noticed that whether I'm at home or on the road when I engage myself in the act of coloring my thoughts are somehow forced to disconnect from other any anxiety producing worries because the simple act of trying to color-between-the-lines tends to keep my brain focused on the here and now. I have also noticed, that when working in my coloring book, I sometimes experience a welcomed-anticipation to get back to a coloring book project still in progress. Not to mention, the sense of accomplishment and a feeling of being restored when my coloring project is done.

Of course, I can not guarantee that this will also be your experience but if you enjoy a good crossword puzzle or some other form of mental exercise coloring the very interesting and in some cases unique images found in adult coloring books will easily provide the same mental weight lifting effect. Adult coloring books are just one way I use to disconnect from the Internet and other media that surrounds me.

I started out by coloring to fill in the time between road trips and to compensate for places where there were little or no Internet services. You might say that after a while I grew to appreciate some of the coloring art those times ended up helping me produce. With the lifestyle, I live presently there can be no permanent disconnecting from the Internet since so much of what I do depends on my computer network of involvements. I do appreciate the ability to disconnect from time to time and for me, anyway, adult coloring books now fill that downtime perfectly.
